Ways to prevent criminals or opportunists from breaking into your property and stealing your possessions. We at dsc security understand the balance between having your own privacy and allowing anyone to come into your property to do as they like.
There are some simple principles that you can use:
1. Remove obvious target items out of sight if possible, place them in a cupboard or preferably in a safe.
2. Make sure all external doors and accessible windows are closed and locked. Any open window in an unoccupied room, may compromise your insurance.
3. Do not advertise the fact that you have just purchased a new piece of equipment by placing the empty carton outside your property, until it is collected as waste (max 2 weeks)
4. Make sure offenders can be seen if they carry out a crime. ie. Do not have high hedges.
5. Install things that can slow down offenders and increase the chance of them from being caught.
