Company History
1988 - DSC commence business as MLA members
DSC Alarms Ltd is a privately owned business which was originally established in December 1988 by current Directors Ian Jolley and Les Rayment. We started business from a small office in Bracknell mainly supplying and installing locks, safes and access control equipment. DSC successfully applied for Company membership of the Master Locksmith Association as Les Rayment was already an MLA member.
1990 - First shop acquired
Within 18 months we decided that we needed to increase our profile by taking on a shop premises in Crowthorne High Street, which served us well and saw us expand our services into CCTV and Intruder Alarm Installation and other areas of property security.
1993 - NACOSS accreditation achieved
In December 1993 we achieved accreditation to install Intruder Alarm Systems to strict quality guidelines.
1996 - BS EN ISO 9002:1994 accreditation achieved
As DSC grew in size and took on more staff, it was obvious we were out-growing the shop and in January 1996 we relocated to our current shop premises. An important pert of maintaining our NACOSS approval was to achieve BS EN ISO 9002 Quality Assurance accreditation, which we gained in July 1996.
1998 - DSC purchase 4KL
With business expanding and our reputation increasing, by January 1998 DSC reached a stage where it was ready to take on an input of extra business and consequently secured the purchase of a local Intruder Alarm Company, 4KL Security, which among their clientele, had a core of house builders they installed alarms for. We entered this new area of installation and today have built up good relationships with many developers, working with them to supply and install quality equipment for their eventual clients.
1999 - Omega Security Solutions founded
DSC Alarms Ltd along with 12 other independent Intruder Alarm Companies dotted around the UK, got together in early 1999 to set up Omega Security Solutions to obtain Nationwide contracts for alarms to be installed by regional independent alarm installers.
2001 - Custodian 'Gold Shield' Award
With our installation experience and the use of quality equipment, April 2001 saw DSC receive an Industry Award from our Alarm Receiving Centre, The Custodian 'Gold Shield' award, recognises Companies achieving the lowest number of false alarms over a period of one year for monitored systems, and for the year ended April 2001 DSC Alarms Ltd were the Group 2 winners of this award. We have been trying to emulate this achievement each year since, but the competition from other installers is intense. It was a great honour to achieve the award and has strengthened our resolve to win it again in the future.
2003 - DSC reaches 15 Years Old
After what seems to be a lifetime in business, we are proud to reach the fifteenth anniversary of DSC Alarms this year. The company is continuing to go from strength to strength and this achievement will only help with our resolve to remain a one of the Thames Valleys leading security companies
2003 - BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation achieved
After much hard work, in December 2003 DSC Alarms Ltd achieved NACOSS Gold Certification for the installation of Intruder Alarms, Access Control and CCTV.
2007 - New corporate identity for dsc security
After much deliberation we have decided to rebrand DSC Alarms Ltd to dsc security, along with a new logo and an updated corporate identity. It was felt that the new name would allow us to continue to trade with greater diversity, as we are now installing far more than just Alarm Systems.
