dsc security can supply and install ALL types of safe for commercial situations. If you need to protect cash, documents, data media or valuables from theft or fire, we will have an ideal solution for you. The following types of safe are the most commonly requested from our customers.
Free Standing Safes
These are probably the most common type of safes fitted in Commercial premises and are bolted to the floor or a wall to prevent easy removal.
- They are available in different sizes to suit the space they are going in and internal capacity required.
- There is a choice of locking method for most safes, either by key, keyless combination or digital keypad, and for higher security requirements, a combination of 2 locking methods.
- They will also be available with different Recommended Insurance ratings depending on the amount of cash or value of valuables to be kept in it. For instance, if a safe has a £4000 cash rating this means that generally your insurance Company will cover up to £4000 in cash or up to £40,000 in valuables. If you are thinking about installing a safe it is advisable to check with your insurance Company what their minimum requirements are for them to cover the risk.
- dsc security can supply and install safes from between £2000 to £100,000 cash rating.
- Many Safes will also have a degree of fire-resistance, some certified for ½ hr at 750º C.
- Safes can be also be fitted with deposit methods including rotary deposit, letter slots, capsule deposit, drawer deposit to suit individual requirements. All these methods allow items to be deposited into the safe without opening it, which can then only be removed by an authorised person holding a key or combination.
Underfloor Safes
These
safes are installed in a hole in the ground which is then filled
with concrete to prevent easy removal. The top of the safe sits
flush with the floor so it can be concealed by placing a floor
covering over it.
There are different sizes available to suit the internal capacity required.
- Different cash ratings are available to suit individual needs from £4000 to £10,000 cash rating.
- There is a choice of locking method, either by key or keyless combination.
- These safes can also have a deposit tube so that capsules with cash can be dropped into the safe without the safe being open, but these capsules can only be removed by accessing the safe using a key or combination lock.
Data Safes
Almost
every business and many homes have computers. Protecting computer
media requires more protection than just a simple box of safe as the
temperature and humidity must be kept at a much lower level. This is
because computer media is plastic and will melt at a much lower
temperature than when paper starts to burn.
These are available in different sizes, with a choice of locking method and will have a modest cash rating.
- Data Safes are normally certified to 1 hour Fire testing at 950ºC but 2 hour certification is also available.
- They are fixed with a non-invasive fixing plate to allow the safe to be secured without breaching its fire protection.
Fire Resistant Safes
If you wish to keep documents or papers safe from the risk of fire, a fire resistant safe is adequate for this task. The loss of documents through fire results in almost half the companies that suffer a fire going out of business within six months, unable to complete their financial statement. If the deeds to your premises go up in flames, what problems will that cause?
- These safes are available in different sizes, with a choice of locking method and will have a modest cash rating.
- They are fixed with a non-intrusive fixing plate to allow the safe to be secured without breaching its fire protection.
- Fire resistant safes are normally certified to a minimum ½ hour Fire testing at 750ºC.
