Digital Communicator Monitoring

A Digital Communicator is only a single path connection through to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).  A simple way to describe how this system works,  is to use the analogy of a modem to dial up the Internet, every time your Intruder Alarm System needs to communicate with the ARC it grabs the telephone line and dials the pre-programmed telephone number, sending the information using a Fast Format system then hanging up the telephone call, after about 10-20 seconds.

If the phone line is cut, then the digital communicator will not be able to make a call to the ARC and your system will rely only on your internal & external warning devices to attract attention.

If this is not acceptable to you, then you will need to choose one of the Dual Path Monitoring Services available. Redcare GSM, Dualcom GPRS or Emizon 21.
